Week of May 24, 2021

  • Last day of school is Thursday, May 27th.
    • 100% remote learners will get information from their teachers.
    • In building students only need to bring a water bottle this day.
    • Students will attend all classes, starting with silver block 1, purple block 1, silver block 2, purple block 2, etc
    • Students who purchased a yearbook will receive it in their silver block 1 class.  Remote learners may pick up their yearbook after 1:30pm on May 27th. 
    • No breakfast will be served.  Hot dogs and chips will be served during electives blocks.
    • A staggered dismissal will begin at 11:58 for 7th grade, 12:00 for 6th grade, and 12:05 for 8th grade.  No early dismissal before these times.
    • 1:00 - car parade for 8th grade.  Guardians and 8th graders are invited to decorate their car and join in a parking lot car parade to say goodbye in style.

  • Summer school dates are July 19th - 30th, 8:00-11:00am, Monday - Friday.  Open to students who will be enrolled at North Arvada for the 21-22 school year.  Deadline to register is May 19th.

  • No school for students this Friday.  Staff will be participating in professional development.

  • CMAS testing will take place Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.  If a student is in building, they will take CMAS assessments.
    • Students who have opted out (or remote learners who did not opt in) will follow this schedule:
      • Monday: Remote, asynchronous purple schedule
      • Tuesday: Remote, asynchronous silver schedule
      • Wednday: Remote, asynchronous PRIDE schedule
      • Thursday: Silver schedule, in building for in building learners
      • Friday: Remote, asynchronous PRIDE schedule
  • There are a few yearbooks available to order.  Orders can be placed online through Josten's.  Yearbooks will be delivered to students on the last day of school.
  • Looking for a summer job?  Check out the Colorado Virtual Career Fair next week at youthcareerfair.orgEvents will take place April 19 - 22.
  • The Alameda HS Anime Club is hosting a virtual anime festival on Saturday, April 24th from 9am - 3pm. The morning will include sessions on cosplay, drawing, and discussions about different anime. In the afternoon we will have a cosplay contest and art show. The festival is open to all students, 6th - 12th grade.     • Monday, April 5th: Asynchronous, remote purple class day for all students.  Check google classrooms for assignments and to take attendance.
    • Tuesday, April 6th: Staggered schedule in-person orientations.  Click here to see what time your student should attend.  The remainder of the day students should asynchronously attend their silver classes.
    • Wednesday, April 7th: In-building learners attend a full day schedule.  Purple classes for all students.
    • Thursday, April 8th: In-building learners attend a full day schedule.  Silver classes for all students.

  • Most 6th graders will be attending Outdoor Lab.  Click here for details about attending, as well as 6th graders not attending.  GT 7th & GT 8th graders will be remote all week. 
  • Yearbooks are on sale now.  The price is $25 through November 6th, and will increase to $30 on November 7th.  Orders can be placed online with Josten's; click here for yearbook ordering details.
  • Virtual theater club will begin in the next few weeks.  See details on the Clubs & Activities page of the North Arvada website.
  • Game Club is BACK!  Are you interested in board games or card games like chess or UNO?  Then this is the club for you!  We will meet ONLINE on Tuesdays at 3:00.  More information will be coming soon.  Contact Mr. Armstrong or Mr. Salisbury if you are interested.

  • Monday, October 26th was a Jeffco Snow Day.  The schedule for the rest of the week will continue as normal:
    • Tuesday will be a silver day with Cohort A in the building.
    • Wednesday will be a purple day with Cohort B in the building.
    • Thursday will be a silver day with Cohort B in the building.
    • Friday will be a remote learning day for all students.
    • Grab and Go meals will still be available on Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Fall Fun Week is here.  Check out the activities Student Services has put together. 
  • Costumes can be worn on Tuesday October 27th or Thursday October 29th.  Be sure your costume meets the Halloween Costume Expectations.
  • Outdoor Lab will be next week for 6th graders who have signed up to attend. 
    • 6th graders not attending will work remote next week.
    • ALL 7th and 8th grade GT students will work remote next week.
  • Yearbooks are on sale now.  Purchase yours before the price increases on November 7th.

  • 2nd quarter starts October 19th.  Check your schedule in Infinite  Campus to see your new elective class.  Then check the Google Classroom Codes for that new class.  Core class codes for 1st quarter will continue to be your class for 2nd quarter. 
  • Thank you to students for entering your breakfast and lunch orders on time and only once!  Good job - it really helps the cafeteria staff with their preparation.

  • Breakfast needs to be ordered by 8:25 every morning to ensure delivery.
  • Lunch needs to be ordered by the time the overhead morning announcements are finished.  No exceptions.  If you cannot place the order, ask your teacher to help you place the order.  Please only place one order per day.
  • Conferences will be held virtually Tuesday October 6th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.  Please have your guardian check their email for a zoom link from your teachers.

  • From Mr. Summers:  Hey Knights, do you identify as a LGBTQ+ student?  Or perhaps you identify as a straight ally and would like to be a part of a supportive community.  Either way, if you would like to have a safe place to be yourself then consider joining the GSA Club.  We welcome people of all gender identities and sexual orientations and will create a safe and fund environment while working towards raising LGBTQ+ awareness in the school culture.  We meet on Zoom at 2:30pm on Fridays.  Please contact Mr. Summers by email if you are interested in joining or have any questions.
