North Arvada 6th Grade will be attending Outdoor Lab the week of November 2, 2020. 
6th graders not attending will work remotely this week.   


Please keep in mind plans will evolve as necessary.

OELS Attire and what to bring: 

  • Students should be prepared to spend the majority of their time outside.
  • Both sites are at approximately 8,200 feet in elevation and extreme weather can occur at any moment. Preparation is important.
  • Sturdy shoes as well as layered attire should be worn to accommodate for any weather changes which commonly occur.
  • Pants are recommended, however, for students attending during warmer weather (August and September) shorts are permitted, but please pack a pair of pants just in case the weather changes.
  • Students should also have a backpack with the following items:
    • Sunscreen
    • Sunglasses
    • Extra layer
    • Hat
    • Water bottle
    • Extra mask
    • Notebook and pen/pencil
    • Hand sanitizer*
    • Camera*
    • Chapstick*

    *recommended but not required

Outdoor Lab in a Time of COVID - Jeffco's Outdoor Lab staff has made adjustments so the experience can continue during the pandemic.  Watch this video to get more information.

 

Outdoor Lab Fee:

  • The Outdoor Lab fee for 20-21 will be $80. 
  • The fee will be added to the student's fee record on October 26th.  The fee can then be paid through Jeffco Connect.
  • If your student has been approved for free or reduced lunches, fees will be waived only if the financial office is made aware of your approved status; please forward your approval email to the Financial Secretary at Janel.OShea@jeffco.k12.co.us.
  • If your student participated in prior fundraising to help cover the fee (either the grocery card fundraiser, or another program through their elementary school), those credits will be applied to the student's record on October 26th.  If you expect a fundraising credit, please wait to pay the fee until you see the credit has been applied.
  • Fees due can be viewed and paid through the Student Fee Payment link in Jeffco Connect.
